I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for a while and i finally figured id ask you guys about it:

Would it be possible to use a rock band drum kit as a midi controller? Isnt that basically what it is?

When the flaming lips played on the Colbert Report their guitarist had a gh controller tapped to the bottom neck of a double neck and i couldnt figure out what the hell the point of that would be. maybe he was doing some midi stuff with?

enlighten me please:D

I think your correct there, im pretty sure i've heard lots of stories of people using guitar hero/rock band drums/gtr as midi controllers, there is something you can buy that connects them to your computer cause when I bought guitar hero the sale guy asked if I wanted one and he said you can change the sensitivity and all that kind of stuff on it!

Now, that's crazy in a cool way. And cool in a wrong way. Like sleeping with your hot sister.

I can wait to see a band where they use GH instruments, all midi and weird electronic stuff, that would be cool as hell

does that exist already?

does that exist already? There is at least one band (David Crowder Band) that uses (for a song or two) a GH controller as a midi controller. This is from 2007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scPtAHB8QOc At the beginning of the song he talks about how it was his drummer's idea, and how it's set up.
