Undoubtedly, some of my fellow geeks have also heard the rumors that the Pixies are going to reunite in April 2004 for a tour. I'd really like to know if anyone has solid factual info or links that they'd like to share, as the Pixies are one of my favorite bands.
the pixies are my favorite band. I would love more than anything the chance to get to see them live. I'm only 19, so when they broke up I was 6. I've been hearing those same stories for years now though..."oh, next summer..." just keep checking in at frankblack.net for all the latest info. but man oh man, I'd do anything to get a ticket to that tour...
But if you do hear anything for sure, post it on here too. Man that'd be sweet.

I heard Frank Black being interviewed by Andrew Collins for 6music a couple of days ago. He said that he'd reform the Pixies for 5million dollars each, after tax, which is a polite way of saying "no Fuffing chance".
Here's a link to that interview plus another one he did for the same station

i too have heard the rumor that they have been jamming and what not with a possible tour upcoming, but that's what they are just now, rumors

There's rumors every year about possible Pixies reunions...it's almost a yearly tradition :P i'm keeping my fingers crossed anyways...

Actually, i just saw Frank Black play in my town (in France) last friday, and he played quite a few pixies songs (Velouria, Caribou ...). Could this be a sign ?
It wasn't a brilliant gig, he's got a damn good band with him, but all those country songs are a bit too much. When they got into a 3 guitar wall of sound though, it sounded amazing ...
By the way, does anybody know what he's got in his rig ?
Apart from the acoustic, he used a telecaster (as usual) with a couple of AC30s with what looked like Vox heads on top (???).
When he cranked up the fuzz, it sounded like a big muff, but it could have been something else ...
I have a friend in London named Bob. You should check him out sometime, his name is Bob Collum and plays all the time.
Not bad, Guru, but no donut.
I am actually english, but, living in France, London is still a few hours away (not to mention that there's a big ****ing pond between here and my homeland ...).
Then again, thanks for the info, you never know, i may cross his path someday ...

I saw this short documentary about the pixies last night on this norwegian music program and the girl doing the interviews etc. said that she had called the record company and asked if it was true but they didnt say anything but they have booked shows in the us. which must mean something....
