Hello,
This is my first post on here, so I'm really hoping someone can help me out.
I'm the proud owner of an old Boss DM-2 delay pedal (one of the ones the Line6 delay modeller imitates) and I really need to find someone who can tell me how the controls are wired up.
Somehow the nut that holds the "Repeat Rate" control in place worked loose over the summer (in a flightcase!), the pot turned round in the casing and broke off from the wires that connect to it. I've rewired two of the connections, but there's a third tag on the pot (the right hand one as you look at it from the bottom of the pedal) with nothing wired onto it. There is a slight suggestion of solder on the side of the wire to the middle pot, which makes me wonder if it's supposed to be wired to both tags, but the solder might be a result of my ham-fisted soldering technique! I need to know if there's supposed to be something connected to the right hand tag or whether I've connected everything up that's to be connected.
In addition, in checking the pedal works (plugging it into my 4-track and listening through headphones) I've noticed that at certain repeat rates the pedal sounds slightly like a ring-modulator. While this is quite cool, I don't remember it doing that before and I need to know if it should be! Could it be that I've "cooked" the wire by leaving the soldering iron in there too long?
I really hope someone can help me with this.
Thanks a lot,
Elliot
