this is the problem:
Jackson proffessional (SD Custom bridge, stock Jackson single coil middle, SD Pearly Gates neck)
+
Fender Hot Rode Deluxe

Sounds horrible!!! Clean channel muddy at 1/2 volume, no depth... on higher volume, dont ask. drive chanels ugly distorted, E & A strings just swampy, uf.... I've tried it all- no luck. same thing happend when I plug Gibson SG Angus Young Signature, Gibson LP Standard, Epiphone LP... Only sounds better (but not good at all) with G&L Legacy (SSS). Before I have changed pick ups it was again tollerable, but no character in sound, just cheap...
All guitars tried trough AVT50, AVT100 (combos), Line6 PAD and everything is just fine.
Amp is few month old, well taken care of, all valvas glowing (sovtek, stock), so, any ideas?

yah, if you don't like it... perhaps you need to get yourself a different amp.
or maybe someone with more knowledge about tubes can suggest some tubes that offer more of a clean sound... tubes that need to be pushed harder to break up the sound.
good luck with the amp!

 well, it was not bad from the beggining, with stock pick ups, but it was not what you would expect from all tube amp... so, i have changed those. yes, i am not trying to get metal sound, but nice driven, high volume, electric sound- and it does not work... probably the amp is reason. then, again, what to have instead- all valves, hybrid, line six PAD?

go fo valves, obviously!!! marshall seems to be the best choice: if you want channel switching etc, go for the TSL (possibly stack), otherwise get a nice bluesbreaker combo for everything from blues to alt.rock. also a vox could do the trick. both the latest amps are really loud with low gain, so expect some stomps and a power attenuator to come with!

well, something like that will happen... only that now one (me) must be extra carefull, realy. brand obviously does not guaranty nothing in the world of WTO... but, choicewise, i was thinking of same things- vox/ marshall...

to be honest, it is more solid rock, you should be here to believe.. ha, ha, ha.... heat gives you that edge
