so if you had my rig...

what would you change and why?

I would switch a Boss rack with the FX94 for longer loops that you can stack on and pitch shift. this will still give you a dely in the feedback loop and, I think, make more use of the sampling abilities on the FX94.

I miss my FX94 often for it's ability to pitch shift. they have one locally, and cheap, but the sampler on it is broken(The inifnite repeat works though, so It still tempts me).

Or I would move the FX94 the the end of the feedback loop, so you can loop piles of noise created by you other boxes.

The first thing I'd do is get a better amp. The amp is the cornerstone to how your rig will sound.

a new amps way out of my leuge at the moment, i'm after a zoom msr4 and a ton of pedals (v. rat, bluebox, big muff, dyna comp, marshall tremolo, and a dan e. french toast to name a few)

i'm thinking about making some kind of router so i can switch the fx94's position in the loop... from the end, to just before the rdd10's (they need to be out of the feedback loop as they are quite noisey and really mess it up)

i need to chill out a bit tho, i'm beggining to sound like merzbow trying to be nels cline... or something

thanks fiveways

That is a problem? 2 of my favourite musicians. Man, I see no problem in sounding like both of them rolled into one.

Also AVOID the MSR-4. I have the Fostex MR-8, much better (Cd quality) and almost the same price(at least around here). Plus it comes with a 128meg smart media card, which is at least usable, unlike the 32 meg zoom card.

again, I will state for noise, you have a wicked little rig. sounds like it would be alot of fun.

Personally I like the way your rig looks. I'm sure it sounds great. I'm not sure about the wah. I have one and I don't even use it I suppose it would add a lot of texture if I used it for volume swells.

nah... when i'm messing around with the feedback loop the wah becomes critical... that and the eq's radically change it's tone/note/depth/whatever. i've put a couple of switches where the vox sticker used to be to change it to a crap volume pedal or alter its voicing

i was a bit dubious about the mrs4 and mainly chose it bacause of its price, but santa's due soon and i'm dreaming of the following...

zoom msr4 - £170
boss br532 - £250
fostex mr8 - £275
zoom mrs802 - £299

the boss is looking quite tasty

last night it went...

zoom gfx707 (used mainly for 2sec samples)
boss rdd10
a/b box
{dod fx40b
mxr phase 90
jh octave fuzz
marshall guvnor+
parametric eq
vox wah
boss rv2}
dod dfx94
boss rdd10

i'd love another delay in pedal form in the f loop, but i saw an ibanez af201 last week with buy me written all over it
