Envelope filters

Hey everyone, glad to be part of this great site. With that said, does anyone have recommendations for bass envelope filters? I'm talking in the Bootsy Collins/Mike Gordon vein of music. I know Flea at some point used the DOD FX-25, but I really didn't like it much. There's a ton out there, but I'm not sure which one to choose. Any input, options, or thoughts would be most appreciated. Here's what I've been looking at:

Mu-tron
Lovetone Meatball (really good, but hard to find and expensive)
Frostwave
EBS
Electro-Harmonix Bassballs or Q-Tron

I like my Ibanez AFL Auto Filter but haven't tried it on bass yet but with all those sliders and switches you could probably get a good bass-tone out of it.

Q-tron...................perferct for Flea type stuff.........it is a Mutron clone btw.........

put it next to the lovetone meatball though- no contest
you could try n get hold of one of the limited run of new meatballs- mines gonna be here soon !! YEY!!!!!

Where are you getting your Lovetone Meatball from? Everytime I check the Lovetone website there's nothing in stock.

Just found a Lovetone Meatball at a store here in NYC. Tried it for about 10 minutes and there is no denying its the king of all envelope filters.

I've tried both the Meatball and the Q Tron.
You already know who the king is;)

But for the price....the q tron did a beauty of a job.

AMEN! I've never played one but hell.. if i come across one off of ebay i'm prolly going to get it. I have the Maxon Auto-Filter 9.. which is a real beaut.
