misc thread spot

There should be a misc spot for threads not on guitar topics

It's been thrown around before, but we've decided we'd like to keep this site oriented on guitars, effects, basses, and on making and recording music. There are plenty of free-for-all forums out there, but we want GuitarGeek.com to remain a niche.

While this is certainly true, these other forums aren't frequented by the same people ... However we could all go to another forum if we want to talk about non-gear stuff. So my input is moot. :)

I appreciate that you all enjoy these forums, and perhaps someday we will enable a catch-all forum to accommodate non-guitar banter. Unfortunately, at the moment, our bandwith is a finite resource, and we prefer that every packet go toward the discussion of making music.
