Pickups doing too much of that..

On my Fender Texas Special (3 single coils) I am noticing that while playing the A string seems to get picked up a whole lot more than I'd like it to. For instance, while soloing or basically during anything else the string seems to hold on to a constant harmonic and stays there for a long while. I've adjusted the pickup height with no success (while I must say, the texas special pickups are wicked the closer you put them to the strings) but still have the same trouble with the A string resonating. Any ideas?

if it's a huge problem you could get replacement pickup with flat polepeices... otherwise there is really nothing you can do except lower the pu height more or raise teh action on that one string
