fix a Whammy re-issue

I have a Digitech Whammy reissue. I want to stop using it as a paperweight/ doorstop. I plug it in and nothing happens. not even a dry signal sometimes it makes a soft static burping noise. Is there any way to fix this, or is it a job for a pro?

i have the same damn problem, i'm not sure if i should open her up or not. it just turned itself off on day and never came back on, i'm very sad.

have any of you guys tried a factory reset.....I think Digitech's website has instructions on how to pull it off.
