I read somewhere that bass players should have at least three times the wattage as the guitarist. The Peavey is a tube amp, right? So 150 tube watts would theoretically be the way to go. However, even then, 100 tube or solid-state watts should be more than enough, because three times as much does seem to be a little excessive.

our bassist uses a 100 watt ss amp and can get the right mix with my 85 watt ss amp and the other guitarists 65 watt line 6 amp. She just turns up louder than us!

idealy i would use something in the 200 watt range so you have some headroom, its the best way to go. I personally use a 850 watt poweramp with my bass rig and i have all the headroom in the world!
