i love playing my acoustic guitar.

my uncle gave me a korean-made galiano acoustic guitar. dreadnought shape. i think a rosewood fretboard... not sure what else.

but the action is nice and it plays like a dream. it even rivals guitars that are about $400 to $500.

i was playing it in the studio a while ago and even the engineer was like, woah, this sounds pretty good for a no-name guitar.

and it does!

anyway, i love playing it. i love the clean simplicity of an acoustic.

I played a few tracks on one of my former band's CDs with a Seagull guitar. A really cheap one, but it sounded nice.

hey joeinthebox --

are you Joe Lee on Harmony Central?

I just went looking around for the guitar you mentioned and see a review of that guitar there -- since the guy's uncle gave him the guitar, I'm guessing it's you :)

hey btw ---

here's a link to some info about that brand -- they were make by Oscar Schmidt -- i've seen some new Oscar Schmidt's around here and there and they're certainly not a bad guitar for the price -- be a very good beginner guitar --

is there any more info available for your guitar? label inside sound box or anything -- i'm always looking for a good guitar and it sounds like you 'stumbled on' to a real gem

:)

woah... y'know... i think i vaguely remember stumbling onto this site when i was looking for more information on my guitar.

when i head home, i'll try to look for some more details!

yah, it's a great guitar and i made, like, zero adjustments to it (except for strings, of course). i think i really lucked out. :)

edit: btw... i don't see my particular guitar on that web site.

edit 2: also the site states: "Stella, Sovereign, La Scala, Galiano...these are just a few of the many brand names that appeared on instruments made by the Oscar Schmidt Company, in Jersey City, N.J. in the years between 1900 and 1937."

i am almost positive that my guitar was made long after 1937. so maybe it's a little known new model under that name?
