I'm a long time guitar player who has bought his first bass and I am planning on buying a headphone amp for practicing until I have enough $$$ to get a good amp. Although I'm not interested in effects I'm also considering multi-effects units that can function as a headphone amp. My budget is about $125. So what's a good one in this price range? I've been looking at the Digitech BP50, Rockman Bass Ace, and C Tech Pocket Rocket Bass headphone amp.

my apartment mate has had success with his bass ace. however, if you haven't made the decision yet, it seems like it might be a better idea just to go with a practice combo in that price range. personally, i really dislike playing bass through headphones. you don't quite get the same feel even as playing through an inexpensive combo. plus, a practice combo should have a headphone output. that way you can share/practice/confer/jam with other people too. i mean, unless it's really important that you have something battery powered that you can travel with.

I'd just go with a combo also. Something cheap and not to loud. I'll look for something and get back to you.

Thanks for your help guys. I got a great deal on a GK Backline 110 on Friday so that's the way I decided to go.
