Hm. I have taken up the mighty Bass

I've been playing guitar for a year or so, and I'm in a band. Our bassist quit... so I am now going to take up the bass. Our lead guitarist has a bass that I'm going to use. SO, basically, what are the differences in technique from guitar to bass? Other than doing slap/fingerstyle. I've played bass before (at practices, and on one song our bassist just sang and I played bass) and I enjoyed it... so I guess everybody wins.

Less palm muting for sure unless your looking to find that really tight Ala Jason newstead tone. But are you going to picking or finger playing? If your picking I can't help ya because it feels weird to me so I don't do it. Sure it can't be much difern't than guitar just bigger strings and thicker picks.
