I have an Epiphone Mandolin. They're moderatly priced. Not sure exactly the cost (as it was gift) but an extremely beautiful instrument to play and look at. I love my mandolin. In fact I should go play it now.

I got a washburn A style used for about $200 at a great music shop in the mountains. It's been a good mandolin to learn on and I didn't have to plunk down a lot of money in case once I got it I didn't play it too often, which sadly I don't play as often as I ought to.

Totally off topic but, whoa...my name's John, I went to UNCW (for a little while, at least) and until about six months ago, lived in Wilmington. Weird...
