For Sale/Trade

How about a "For Sale/Trade" forum where Geeks can sell & swap pedals - with Guitar Geek maintaining no liability for bad deals ?

i was actually thinking about that today... some sort of "classifieds" forum where people can sell/trade gear as well as find musicians for bands and stuff. i think that would be pretty cool.

A used gear section would be cool, although I doubt enough people read this board to make a musicians wanted column very effective.

*shrug* i thought a 'musicians wanted' column could be cool to just have so people know that it is there and as more and more people sign up to GuitarGeek.com hopefully more people would be interested in it.

This is something we'll consider, though it veers a bit from what our designs for the site are. Personally, I think it's a great idea.

However, If we promote the sale of used gear on our boards, it could cause problems for our affiliates, which in turn would make it harder for us to maintain the site.

hmm. that is a good point... perhaps you can arrange something where the affiliates can sell or feature items in the "classifieds" forum, and even have some sort of premium placement on that particular page or something.

does that make sense?

although, i understand that it might start making the site more of a proper business as opposed to more of a public service for us gear geeks.
