I know that Gary Rossington uses a Peavey Mace head and a Peavey Open back 412 load with JBL D-120

In the early years every guitarist in LS used Peavey Amps.

Gary still uses them.

Rickie Medlocke and the other guy I don't know.

For God's sake, it's Lynyrd Skynyrd

I apologize bumping this old, old topic, but I'd rather do that than make a new one. Anyways,

Is that all they used? I hear some type of phase in Freebird.

Yes. Peavey Mace Amps had built in phasers. They were used by Skynyrd.

I really dislike Skynard, so I can't tell you anything about the new guys. But I have an eighties guitar world with an overview.

Gary Rossington has a Gibson Les Paul and uses an SG with an extra G string replacing the B string. Effects wise he has used a Phase 45 and an Alesis somethingverb.

Randall Hall used a '60s Strat with DiMarzio Fat Stack pickups and bourns bots. He also had a funny guitar called a Telebird de by some guy, which had a Firebird body and tele neck and electronics. He had a Vox wah wah

Ed King mostly used either strats or Pensa Suhr guitars with EMGS.

All three plugged into Peavy Mace heads and ported 4X12s and used wireless systems.

It's already been said, but an interesting read nonetheless:

I've been listening to "Vicious Cycles" and It's amazing.

Yes, It's Red, White and Blue and they are proud to be Rednecks but hey ... good toons!

I'm part Redneck too and have the scars on my hands to proove it. Worst possible bastard ... an educated Redneck that plays guitar :)

You do know where the Redneck expression comes from?

Jeff Foxworthy turned it into Southern tralier trash but a Redneck comes form being in the sun all day ... hence a farmer.

Southern people started to get called that because of the plantations.

So yeah ... a redneck is a Southern tralier trash type or a country boy. Yee-Haw!

I was partially raised on a farm.
