well, i've been playing bass for about a year and am getting into slap bass. I'm running a Ibanez sound gear with active pickups into a Kustom 100W combo. I love the sound of the amp with the gain pretty high, but it also causes some pretty bad peaking when i go to slap anything. My main question is, is the peak indicator on my amp just there to let me know my signal is clipping, or is it letting me know that i'm damaging my amp.
- any info would be much apreciated

i play a kustom 65 same thing there, and the manual doesn't say a word about it damaging the amp.

Anyway i think thats the sweetspot when that little led lights!:)

Clipping shouldn't harm your amp any but it is a little harder on your speakers. Overdrive is harder on speakers because the speakers are trying to push out sound that doesn't look like a sine wave.
