Were writing a new song, its a kind of slow-yet-heavy song. Sort of like Youth Of The Nation by POD i suppose. Anyway, like lots of our songs it begins with a bass intro. But I cant make up something really atmospheric and cool. It should be slow, I think, but it just isnt flowing. Is there a certain scale or pettern that makes something atmospheric and impacting? Help!!! We gig on Saturday!!! :)

Try not using a certain scale, its ok to use them and thats how i write stuff, its just a lot of people dont play things because it doesnt fit into a scale when it sounds really good.
Id try playing slow and with some atmospheric effects like chorus.
Try using some techniques you dont use very often, i think lots of harmonics with vibrato and subtle bends would be quite good.
