1 Bridge Humbucker with Amp of choice waiting.
Coconuts can be used instead of 9v batteries.
(*) for the non-buckers
EDIT:> You don't have to put the AMP.

Well, my 1st replacement seems to be the ONE.
Duncan Distortion - Marshall JCM 2203
I tend to like low wattage amps so one of my favorite humbuckers is the Seymour Duncan Seth Lover. The Fralin that I tried in a Grosh was really nice too.
For bass the Bartolini is hard to beat, nice clean sound and more tonally complex than a lot of bass pickups (the P-Bass single coil and QP's by Seymour Duncan are really nice too) ...

i chose prs pickups. i love them. i have a custom 24 and they are killer.
the best combo would be
PRS guitar w/ pickups ------- mesa booge road king head or combo
Maton MS2000 with a Mastertone vHo in the bridge into a Marshall JTM45 full stack

I like the Duncan Custom Custom... so is that Seymour Duncan + output?
I'd take an H&K Triamp, btw.
Talent?!

EMG 81 into Jcm 800 :D
What about a real Gibson PAF? Thanks for excluding me :P
Fralin - 9K wind, treble position.
But the SD Custom came in a very close second. If it did clean a little better..

They're not particularly consistent-sounding, as near as I can tell. I've only ever played through 3, but they were definitely not all the same pickup.

Comparing output from different PU makers is a challenge so use your best judgement. I would consider the Duncan CC a +output.
give me PAFs and a plexi and i'm set
DiMarzio custom wound. into a wind up (since when has a desert island had electricity:rolleyes: ) Mesa Triaxis - Marshall EL34 100:100 power amp - 2 marshall 1960bs
:D

Desert or deserted Island doesn't imply there wasn't any prior modern infrastructure.

Yeah me too, its a fairly high output pickup I would say.
If only the cleans were a little better- not bad, but not that good.

I'm I to assume that everybody else will be bringing stock PUs :)
The JB in my black Les Paul. Can't think of an amp, though (too many choices!).:(
WTF, go with a Diezel.

Well I technically *am* bringing my stock pickups, since my Godin comes with a (Custom) Custom Custom stock.

Thanks to Guru there's Gibson (+output) now.

The Gibson Iommi has really impressed me lately. The darn thing will not feedback regardless of what you toss at it. I've got my guitar right against the speakers and not a squeal.
The tone is perfectly balanced and crunchy. It's not compressed sounding like the Duncan Distortion nor is it raspy like the DiMarzio Super Distortion.
Oh well, same category for me different PU.

I'm still hunting for the pickup, but my Del Rey into my Triple Rec. I hope there are some metal/punk/goth girls on this island otherwise I'm going to be like the guy earlier with the EMG on a Les Paul into a 5150:(

I love you EMG 707...probably into a bogner ecstasy, i could keep it cranked all the time!
i didnt even see p90, and it was right underneath my choice. but i voted tvjones/gretsch/dearmond for an actual humbucker.
amp of choice would be a finely tuned fender super reverb.

I'm going with Boyecho here.
I said P-90. Throw it on a guitar with a nice whammy put it through any type of Fender reverb amp and you could have some serious surf action going on this desert Island.

hmm i would stay with a neck pickup
dunno which one, im satisfied with my esp pickup
through my custom amp ;)

I want an Anderson for my Westone so I can have a balls-out tone with that geetar, but ideally I'd like a 70's to mid-80's Les Paul Custom with stock T-tops into a Marshall JMP or JCM800 2203 or 2204 head with lots of Marshall V30 loaded 4x12's 'cause I'd be on a desert island. It'd be so loud that I'd probably be rescued 'cause people could hear me! That or they'd drop a bomb on my island so I could shut up. :( Oh yeah, all the gear would be vintage, 'cause I don't like lots of the new stuff Gibson and Marshall are doing. Even Marshall cabs sometimes get a bad rap. Anyway, T-tops for me, although I', getting an Anderson pu pretty soon.

PAFfabbes over $200
These Wolftone pups I've been playing are great for every style.
