Hi, I'm new here, but have been in a couple of Rush tribute bands here in the UK over the past 12 years or so, here's my rig....

1. Space for volume pedal 1 - This controls the volume for my Acoustic Signal path.
2. Volume pedal 2 - This controls the volume for my Electric signal path.
3. Latching switch, that enables the POD Pro's "Boost" mode, handy for solos.
4. A--B switch, this switches my two signals paths on and off.
5. Ground Control Pro. Top line of switches control the POD Pro, and the ones below it control the FX units.

A. Furman - Power distribution, I just plug a single wall socket in, and it gives me power to 10 units, inc pedalboard, with power conditioning.
B. Space for my Rack mounted Nady Wireless unit.
C. Korg DT-1 Tuner
D. Line6 POD Pro - Modelling Amp.
E. Space for Acoustic signal path FX unit.
F. TC-Electronic G-Major FX unit, for Electric signal path.
G. Behringer Splitter / Mixer Ultralink MX662 - Used to mix the 2 Signals paths into 1, before being fed through H, into I.
H. Behringer Compressor Pro
I. Marshall 8008 80/80 watt Power Amp.
Er, think that's it :-)

All i know for Alex is this amp (http://www.hughesandkettner.com/) and various guitars....but I'm not a real big Rush fan or I would know more.
Geddy used to use Ric basses and now uses Fender passive J-basses...that's all my info..

Wayjurn???who brought up this old thread? That guy hasn't been around in a long time.
Anyway, you can check out my rig. It's similar to the stuff Alex used during the moving pictures/signals/grace under pressure albums.
When asking about Alex's gear, I feel it's important to reference the era for which your are looking at: Pre moving pictures era, the moving pictures era and the post hold your fire era.

All I know is that Geddy plays a Sansamp RBI.

I brought it up as I'm stunned that NONE of Lerxst rigs are on this site in the database :-)

Personally I'm interested in his current, in particular ...
1. How it's hooked up.
2. How it's controlled, NOT what is it controlled with, but how it all works together.

As I'm a 2112, Caress Of Steel fan, I'd love to be able to afford a Gibson ES-335. If you're a foountain of knowledge when comes to affordable, decent Semi Solids, please reply to my ES-335 thread.
Cheers.

Alex plays mostly PRS guitars into Hughes and Kettner Triamp and Zentera amplifiers, respectively. but he still has a collection of his old guitars, among them a few Les Pauls, an ES-335, a Telecaster, and his old SG Doubleneck.
for effects, he just has three G-Forces and a Dunlop Rack Wha run into a GCX Audio Switcher. he also uses a TC Electronic Spatial Expander for chorus sounds and a Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere.
Geddy uses his signature Fender Jazz Basses, and has a rig that runs right into the PA system so he has no amps on stage. i think he uses a SansAmp pre-amp into Trace Elliot power amps.
I'm not a Rush fan at all, but I do know that Geddy has a few Wal basses.

Indeed. The basses that I know he plays are Rickenbackers, Steinbergers, Wals, and Jazz Basses.

Ged uses Jazz Bases exclusively now.
He was recently asked if he'd ever use a ricky again, to which he said he wouldn't as he loves the Jazz way too much,
