tried it and didn't like it. The low end was completely gone and the distortion had less power then those compared to the Big Muff and RAT I own. But again it is a matter of taste.

the bass player in my band uses one for when he wants the bass to really cut through - it does lose a lot of low end, but still sounds good to me. think entombed.

You should try the Danelectro Fabtone. I was looking for an alternative to it and a lot of people recommended the HM-2, so I guess it would go both ways. and it has a bass knob to compensate for a lack of low end. I personally love it on the bass.

Did nobody mention the Sansamp Bass Driver DI? That is the best bass dist. pedal ever! It even beats some rack dist preamps I've used and is played by everyone famous from Les Claypool, to Geddy Lee, to Doug Wimbish, the list goes on and on. It's a little expensive but worth every penny!
