The only thing that instantly jumps to mind about the Manics is that James uses a White Custom Les Paul, I saw them last December but I didn't pay much attention to their gear.

i think amp-wise they use marshalls... but i'm not quite sure about their effects and stuff.

James Dean Bradfields rig is quite complex at the moment, although it has evolved. His live setup changed when they toured Everything Must Go.

Before then his setup was a Marshall JCM ???, Jim Dunlop Wah and another Boss pedal. You can just make out some pedals in some pictures in the latest book on the Manics, Forever Delayed.

Now he uses a Fender Twin, Vox AC30, Marshall JCM 900, Orange combo. All the switching and effects work is done by his guitar tech backstage, so no-one really knows what effects are used, and the amp switching must be very complex.

Guitar wise, he owns two Gibson Les Paul Customs, white finish and uses Thinline Telecasters and Jagmasters on other songs.

Ali.

Richey used tele's, but i'm not sure if he was actually playing.

Richey didn't play in the studio, and live his rig was turned down low just to pad the sound out. He was mainly the lyric songwriter, which is why the recent Manics singles are a bit less passionate and a touch damped down compared to Generation Terrorists/ Gold Against the Soul/Holy Bible era.

Richey used a Tele/Marshal combo, using either standard or later thinline tele's.

As for James the above info is about right, he used to use a boss chorus and a tremeolo pedal (not sure if Boss Tremeolo) and a wah on GATS. I have found some decent info on the net before but can't seem to find it in my favourites list now... For the older albums I believe it was just a Les Paul and a Marshall, with a bit of wah and chorus. Don't forget James' huge slash influence around this time... Hence the rig above.

He did have the white Les Paul modded with an acoustic transducer under the bridge for the later albums, and used 3 wireless units to run the amps/acoustic amps. Live he used Trace Elliot acoustic amps, Marshall and Orange Stacks and Vox AC30's.

Best of luck, be sure to let the rest of us know if you find anything...
