Right now it's pretty simple.. just my SR885 straight into a Carvin Redline stack, sometimes using my ODB-3 and/or my BP-8 for certain songs. I'm starting to buy pedals, though.. I'm a bass effects enthusiast :D and I kind of have something planned out but I want some input before I start making serious purchases.
Wayjurn's (Projected) Stage Rig
Ibanez SR885 (stock) > Nady XR-61 wireless > Boss LS-2 line selector (Effects Loop: standard Crybaby > Boss ODB-3 bass overdrive) > Carvin Redline 1000-watt head (Effects Loop: Electro-Harmonix "Frequency Analyzer" ring mod> Digitech BP-8 (used for modulation and delay as well as tuning)) > Carvin 4x10" and 1x18" cabinets
Music played: Funk metal, thrash metal, alternative metal, pop-rock, emo-core, dream-pop, everything from Sunny Day Real Estate to Snapcase and from Angie Aparo to Anthrax.
My main question is about the Crybaby. I don't buy the whole funk-wah-bass thing, so the pedal's only real use is going to be for Burtonesque solos and distorted stuff. I'm even putting it and the ODB behind a line selector so that I have a clear signal when I don't want to use the wah at all. But is this the right pedal to be using for this? I've had a Morley PDW-II for some time now and I'm not really satisfied with its construction, but I'm not really sure what else I like. I've also _kind of_ been considering the Boss modeling wah but I'm really kind of doubtful.
And as usual I'd appreciate any comments or feedback.
