Top 100 Rigs

I just noticed on guitar geek there is a Top 100 rigs by clicks. I thought it was funny that Dave Grohl...the drummer for (in the words of Zakk Wylde) ****vana...is number 1 with the most hits.

thats funny, wylde said he supported the grunge movement in that quote on your sig... why would he call them '****vana'? hell i dont even listen to nirvana but you have to have a certain degree of a respect for a band that ruled the world at one point in time.

i respect nirvana but im not really into that kinda music. all i know is that zakk hates dave grohl because grohl wrote some song for an ozzy cd that zakk didnt like

Squealing harmonic eh? ahahah. I spose they're a little bit like swear words, overuse seems crude. :)

I don't care how many of you think grohl is a good guitar player and singer, he's still a better drummer. ;)

I never called him a hillbilly. Although I have been known to refer to him as a red-neck, trailer-park, white-tresh inbread hick piece of sh*t. But hey, thats just my opinion.

Zakk Wylde is a person that I would never take advice from. Just like The Allman Brothers or Derek Trucks... or Eric Clapton. They are just those kind of people who say stuff like "Blues is the greatest music, and there will never be anything better" and "If you don't have music with balls, then your'e a talentless *****". It's cool that they do what they do, but they aren't going anywhere other than where they currently are. People like Bowie are who I respect... always changing their sound and welcoming changes in music.

Needless to say, I don't care what Zakk Wylde has to say about Nirvana or music in general, because in ten years I'll pick up a Zakk Wylde album and I'll still hear big chunky Les Paul riffs, a JCM 800 and far too many pinch harmonics. Now thats not a bad thing, but it's just the same ole thing that I was bored with ten minutes into his Black Label Society CD.

And I love Derek Trucks, The Allman Brother, and to a certain extent Clapton by the way.

The same can be said of several musicians , AC/DC, YJM, Rolling Stones, etc. They all have unique sounds and at times this can be repititious.
I agree Bowie is and has allways been an innovater but would you say the same ( innovative Y/N - repetative Y/N ) about someone like the late great SRV???

I believe whats being said here revolves around opinion.
say what you like about anyone as long as it is truthful and adheres to a code of ethics while maintaining a level of respect.

Speaking of rednecks me and my band did a hill billy song which contains quite strong language and topics but it is said from the point of a redneck and its quite funny.

None of the views expressed in this song are mine, except the fact that I think rednecks are idiots.

Zakk Wylde is also mentioned in the song.

As for Zakk Wylde, I do respect his talent but I hate his attitude.

Dave Grohl is excellent when he writes good songs, but terrible when he writes bad ones. But overall I like the music that Dave Grohl creates. As for Nirvana, I love 'em :cool:
