Hey!

a guy in my class let me borrow his old Hondo II strat copy thing and i really want to fix this guitar up and make it even better. It actually plays good and sounds good after ca. 20 years of no playing!

the pots are really ****ed tho.. makes noise and scratches when I turn them around but still its a nice backup guitar!

anybody know how much this is worth? like 25$-ish? :p

Hondo made some really sweet guitars in the 80s I have a 335 copy as my second guitar, it needs new pots and a refret and maybe new pups but otherwise its a really nice guitar.

I've toyed with the idea of selling it a couple of times but i just can't bring myself to do it , it was my first "proper" guitar.

Hondo made loads of different strat copies so it could be worth anything from $40 to $200.

Look on the back of the headstock for a model number that should give you an idea which one it is , and then check out the user reviews for Hondos on Harmony Central, even if you can't find a model number you should be able to work out which one it is from the descriptions.

If its a Hondo II strat then Harmony Central (http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Hondo/Hondo-II-Strat-Copy-01.html) says its worth about $150.

I'd keep it and upgrade the pots and pickups. which is what i'll eventually do with mine, once I've finsihed upgrading the MiM Tele.

My girlfriend came home the other day with a Hondo bass - some doufas down the street was throwing it out so she said "oh no you're not!" and asked them if she could have it.

It's got three strings (2 mismatched roundwounds and a flatwound!?!) that were tuned up way too high so the necks not in the greatest shape. It's got some bird**** on it too!

When she get some new strings for it I'll try and set it up - hopefully I can tweak the trussroad to help things. Sounds like fun!

Actually, i just found a HES5000 in my girlfriend's apartment!

It's a sunburst Strat copy with black pickguard and white pickups/knobs/switch, and it has this chromed vintage cover over the bridge.

If you find more information about the guitar I'm all ears! :)
