i currently use a Zoom GFX4 multi effects unit, and i was wondering how to get the same sort of distortion as Queens of the Stone Age, im not to sure what equipment they use so i can't guess it too well, but from what i hear its about half on the gain, cos u can still hear the notes! If some one could help me out, i'd be very greatful, as i really like qotsa.:D

they use maton guitars, australian made :D

you can't get it with a zoom...... sorry.....

tune your guitar in C (C f a# d# f# c), get a good overdrive (like a boss sd-1) and warm up some tubes...... big tubes!

josh homme uses old ampeg bass amps with custom 4x12" ampeg cabs when i saw them live a few years ago. also saw him with masters of reality with a big sunn amp. now it looks like he also uses some vintage ampeg combo's.... it's a huge backline

and the maton guitars are only for the road, his regular axe is a pawnshop ovation solidbody
