I actually have one of those, except my bevels are silver, it looks much better than that one. I wonder who decided that paint combo was a good idea?

Anyway, the first time I picked up a Beast and played it, I felt so rediculous, I couldn't keep the stupid grin off my face, I had to buy one.

You are right about them being great guitars. I played one at while in NC last month and it blew me away. One of the best feeling, quarter-sawn necks I have ever felt and the body (despite the finish) is extremely lightweight and resonant.

No, that's extremely spalted/fungusized maple... very expensive... and there are many people who find such figuring highly attractive.

Hell, far more interesting than Candy Apple Red.

dude, its called Purple Schmear finish, thats why it says "tyler studio elite HD in purple shmear". there are quite a few schmear finishes available from Tyler.

It was a bass, but yea, I was thinking that too. The original thread on that was an E-bay auction, and when I looked up the thread, the auction was deleted. So does anyone have a pic of that thing?

(not the Wangcaster, it's a bass custom built by some punk bassist) the original thread was called something like "OMG the Wangcaster has a friend!" :D

If you just know the name of that bassist, that would help too, cuz right now I have no idea how to search for a thing like that on a search engine. A name would help tons. :)

ps. Keep them ugly guitars coming!! :D I actually liked the spongebob one. I would never play it on stage, but it's quite halirious to have as a display. :D :D

See the skeleton guitar about half way down the page? Is that a clear fret board? I'm guessing there is there no fretboard at all? Could you alter the pitch by pressing the strings farther past the frets since there is no fretboard to stop you?

It's not spalted - that's the actual finish that originally came about by accident. He tried mixing finishes that were incompatible and they seperated on the guitar - the player that bought it loved it so much that Tyler tried to replicate the process and couldn't and the "vomit" finish he uses now is the closest he can get to replicating it (it's a dip finish using incompatible paints).

I think that is one guitar that I must have. I dont know how, seeing how its not for sale, but I think that is one cool lookin guitar.

any lp or sg or tele shaped guitar looks pretty bad to me... i like very assymetrical guitars....i mostly lean towards the "surf" guitars, but some "metal" ones have wiggled there way in to win my liking....
