Alesis Midiverb 4 LCD DIsplay

The LCD light on my MidiVerb 4 display just went out. I've been looking for the schematics for this thing and can't find them. I refuse to pay $222.00 for the PCB board because according to Alesis that is the only way to fix the display? I'm still able to read what effect I'm using but with out the light it's kind of hard. It just recently went out.

Has anyone else had this problem?!!:confused:
