whats the bestscale for metal? like slayer pantera style stuf, also avenged sevenfold, and like just the best all around metal scale (probably diatonic)???????

There isn't one scale in particular that is good for metal but their are a few I could recommend. Check out Natural Minor, Harmonic Minor, and any type of exotic Minor scales like for instance Hungarian Minor. Expieriment. Keys to know for metal would be E for older metal(Metallica and Pantera) and C for newer types of metal(Deftones etc.) Don't limit yourself though. Check out guitar.com for their chord and scale generators. It is under their learning section. Other than that, just find out what you favorite artists use. For instance I know Dimebag favors Minor Penatonics. Hope all of this helps you out.
