loud click

my wah-wah pedal makes a loud clicking noise through the amp when i activate/deactivate it. is there something wrong with it or is that a normal annoyance?

Could be a couple things......
Check to see the jacks are tight......
Try switching it off and on with your thumb.....if it still clicks, you might need a new switch.....happened to me a few times.

Could be a dirty switch try spraying tuner cleaner on the switch I got my tuner cleaner from radioshack for about $1. Or the input and output jacks could be dirty also.

I heard this can be caused by the quality of pick-up on the guitar.

I'm not sure if this is right though!

I sprayed switch cleaner into my CryBaby switch and it stopped almost all the clicking.
