I really dig these guys. Anyone else into them? I can't find any of their stuff here (the US, more specifically, Jersey) except for the album and I already own it.

From what I've heard, which is a few songs, they are good but I think they're victim of the NME/Noel Gallagher Greatest Band of the Week syndrome.

Elite Indie Rocker Answer: I liked them better when they were called The Jesus & Mary Chain.

Music Fan Answer: I really like their album, I first heard of them because they were opening for Spiritualized. I gave them a listen and it was pretty cool. I've got a burned copy of the album..I really should buy it.

I really do think they sound a lot like J&MC, heck, even have similar initials. I also think J&MC are better. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying BRMC. I read an interview where they said that they never really listened to The Jesus and Mary Chain. But Interpol claims to have never heard of Joy Division before they started getting compared to them.

they are great, also Interpol's Turn on the Bright Light.

I also dig J&TMC and BRMC have a similar sound. I figure what's it matter if they sound the same if both write good songs?

for anyone here that doesn't own these two albums, you simply MUST buy them.

They are a guitar-player's wet dream, for me anyway..

What two albums? Interpol and BRMC?

I love the guitar work on BRMC's album, some of their non-album stuff is great. Fail-Safe has a great guitar part.

both interpol and brmc.

on brmc's album, track 2 has wicked guitar. (Red eyes and tears)

and on interpol, track 5 (reach out and touch the angels, or something like that) is wicked.

I haven't listened to the whole Interpol album yet, but when I first started hearing all the hoopla I downloaded Roland, and really liked it. I also downloaded another song, and didn't really like it. I think I'll have to give the whole thing a listen and let it soak in.

two great bands.

even though i have a lot of musical influences that emerge in all of my songs... i have realized that my musical style leaned more towards BRMC and Interpol than most other bands.

i saw BRMC open for spiritualized as well. great stuff.

and did you check out the rig of the guitar player? three tubescreamers.

oh... and in terms of BRMC, i always love bands that can create such a huge sound with just three members in the band. that's what i try to strive for... big sound but simple rig. big sound, small band.

less is more!

Yeah, BRMC rocks. (I mentioned them in another of these threads, actually.) Got their cd a while ago, and it spent quite a while on my personal heavy rotation. "Love Burns", "Red Eyes & Tears", "Rifles",....great album.

B.R.M.C. kicks ass. it's also cool that they be that they got the drummer from The Verve to fill in for their drummer when he couldn't play.

Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights is definately one of the best indie rock albums out there... I love these guys!
