Tallulah- Sonata Arctica
Thorn- Blind Guardian
Being able to listen to only five songs would suck.

enough of these questions!
I'd rather DIE!!! NOTHING can survive that repetition. PERIOD! It would be ALMOST as bad as the repetition on commercial radio.

Good point, but I think this thread is just a more subtle way of saying, "List your five favorite songs."
- "Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana
- "The End" by the Beatles
- "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd
- "Exit Music (For A Film)" by Radiohead
- Last choice is a dead heat between "Alec Eiffel" and "River Euphrates" by the Pixies. I think I'd choose "Alec Eiffel" just because of that amazing keyboard bit at the end.
Most of that list is tentative, but "Heart-Shaped Box" will always be my all-time favorite song.

Isn't that like 30 seconds long? It's such a short Beatles song, I'm surprised Joe ****er didn't cover it.

I'd listen to Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous by Good Charlotte five times.

No. You're probably thinking of the song after that, "Her Majesty".

No, I wasn't actually. It's confusing 'cuz every song on "side 2" runs together (or comes together, if you prefer). I was thinking "The End" just starts where they say "and in the end...". But I just popped in the CD, and it starts with the "are you gonna be in my dreams tonight" bit, then into Ringo's solo, etc.. Still not really that complete a "song" really. Just a bunch of fragments slapped together, as is almost ALL of side 2. That's not saying it's a BAD thing at all. I think that's one of the greatest album sides EVER! For the record, the section of the medley that falls under the name "The End" (on the CD) clocks in at 2:19. Not very long even if it WAS a "complete" song. And "Her Majesty" is all of 23 seconds. Actually, "The End" is more like 2:02 because there's about 17 seconds of silence at ... well, THE END. :p
warning - incubus
be quiet and drive - deftones
go with the flow - queens of the stoneage
judith - a perfect circle

Okay, cause I've seen it a few time, I'm going ot be a bitch.....
Do you mean the song "verse chorus verse" or "Sappy"? see, there actually two different songs...."Verse chorus verse" was only played live and appears on a couple of bootlegs and "Sappy" was recorded for "In Utero" and appears on the "No Alternative" comp.
I just get confused....

Huh. I've never heard that before. I've always heard the "No Alternative" track referred to as "Verse Chorus Verse". I know it doesn't actually have that song listed on it. So how did that come to be known as "Verse Chorus Verse" if that's not actually the title?

In responce to "the same as saying what are yer five favorite songs", no it isn't the same , my favorite songs are more catching and repeating like "smoke on the water" but I couldn't listen to it for the rest of my life because the "dant dant dant dant dant danna dant dant dant da da" would eventually drive me insane , Angel and Surrender and some of the other songs I mentioned repeat themselves less.

Ok, taking into account repitition, I'm including five songs that I love AND listen to repeatedly.
1. The Pixies "Where is my Mind"
2. Radiohead "Airbag"
3. Nirvana "All Apologies"
4. Liz Phair "**** and Run"
5. Black Sabbath "Paranoid"
I can honestly say that I just never get tired of these songs. Maybe I would if forced to listen to them only, but whatever.

Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You Imagined (instrumental)
Incubus - New Skin
(hed) Planet Earth - Half The Man
Lacuna Coil - To Live Is To Hide
Jeff Buckley - Dream Brother
The reason why everybody likes these things is that usually people are proud of their musical taste. Nobody cares what others post. 85% of the times I just think "ugh, what a bad taste" when I get to know other guy's 5 songs. We just feel proud and secure by presenting the songs we would choose.
