I posted a thread up hear earlier about speaker size for tone. Now I'm curious about quality for price. I'm looking into getting a Carvin stack package, 1000 watt head, one 4-10 and one 1-15/18 speakon cables and everything. The entire package is about the price of an Ampeg SVT head alone. But I've been hearing a lot about the Heartke VX series stuff, and they seem almost equal and price.

Whats your point of view on this.

I have played through a smaller guitar combo amp and got a more of a high bass sound it was konda differnt but....... I am not sure if I have possibly damaged either equipment for frenqucy reasons I dont know, but if you like it you like it.:D

OOPS SORY WRONG PAGE but I can actually anser this query.......
I have played all of the above mentioned and.... Hartke for the price you ant go wrong sounds good if you like the fat bass tone..
not much for highs..... Carvin is also AWSOME FOR THE PRICE I really like carvin amps... the tone is really warm and can respectivly get crazy on the highs and lows mids are lacky but because you are gonna use two cabs you shoulldn't have the problem as I did with an 8x10. AMPEG in my opinion the best by far. I just hate the price but as i have read and said "you pay for what you get and if you can afford it get but buy what you can afford." I will agree with both side of the argument hoghend stuff is overrated and the bass player makes the tone and so on etc....
