View Full Version : Do you have a male brain or a female brain

so i just did this on-line test and I scored 0 which means that my brain is equally male and female.

That explains why I can skillfully out-manouvere someone into a parking space yet fully empathise with their anger towards me for stealing their space.
:D

I scrored a 25.

I guess it might help if I added it was on the male side.

The 3D bending picture frustrated me the most but I did the best on that one...hm...

25 on the male side

Part 3 was a bit of a cluster****, in the Emotions and Systems section I was deeply unempathic, even by male standards yet on the second Eyes section I did better then the average female score and it called me empathic

The 3D objects thing was a little weird too, it gave you 6 objects and then scored you out of 12. I got 6 out of 12 and I'm confident I got them all correct.

Geez... by the end of it, it was getting hard to concentrate (though I kicked ass on the "rotate the object in your mind" part: 11/12), so when it came time to come up with synonyms for the word they gave, I didn't follow directions. I pressed enter after every word, instead of using a comma. duh.

My score: 50. Average.

I think you might have only done half the test for that one.

For each of the six objects there were two representations of it from a diferent angle, so you should have highlighted two boxes for each one: that's why it was out of 12 not 6.

That probably means you're 25% magpie or something :D

Can you all tell me what you got for the 'hand-clasping' test?

I'd be interested to see how many of us are left-brained or right brained.

I'm right-brained

I got left hand on top, which meant that my right brain was dominant.

50%, funny, does it not have an interval between 25 and 50?

25% male. I scored pretty low on everything. I should try it again when I'm a little less tired.

That "split £25" task was weird. Why would you ask for more than half of something that you have no more right to than the other person?

My responses:
Oh? When are you due?
I hope she's not chewing on your intestines.
And you hide it so well!
Yeah? It shows.
Don't we all?
You're gonna have a helluva time when she grows up.

Anyway, I tried taking the test, but I think it froze on me.

exactly my thoughts, I instinctively though well I'll split it 50/50 of course, it's only fair.

but apparently most people offer the other person less than 50%.

how it works is that if the other person says no neither of you get anything, this gives the person deciding the amount the advantage, basically they have to guess how little the other person is prepared to take before they say no deal.

what it measures is your propensity for risk taking.
I'm not a risk taker and obviously with my general sense of fairnes I'd never make a good busines man.

I got 50% male, my mum got 0%.

I got full marks on the 3d shape one, and 18/20 on the line one. I think that's cool, because spacial awareness is one of the things i think i'm pretty good at.

I scored rubbish on empathy, and good on sympathy, which is good, because i think that is there's a problem, it needs to be solved, not whinged and complained about :)

Erm, yeah, the others wern't so good, except damn, loads of the girl's faces were ugly  I got mostly feminine faces for that too. Oh and for the word and spot the diff. ones, i failed :(

Well, that's me, i'm male for most things, but not all :D

EXACTLY! I thought that was so sad, i just chose 25 (you had to split 50)...i mean, what kind of knob would chose more than their fair share?

By the way, i'm right brained, but right handed, right footed, and left eyed :D (makes some things hard, like firing rifles, but pistols easier)

I got a 50 on the male side. Scored 18/20 on the "select the angle" portion, and 11/12 on the "rotate an object" (ran out of time on the last one). Which I guess makes sense since I am an engineer.

The faces part was interesting, several of them looked very similar, but it was pretty easy most times to tell what they were trying to do (Hmm, this one has bigger eyes and fuller lips, but this one has a monster chin - who should I pick). I was pretty puzzled on a few of the eyes ones, but my score came out average. I did enjoy that they noted that many males mistakenly think they sense desire in females' eyes - yup, sounds about right.

I think geeks here would be overwhelmingly right brained being musicians and all. I've always thought thats why you fret with your left hand rather than the one you do most stuff with.

Must read instructions next time, I wondered why I kept seeing two very likely answers

Ahh well, not reading the instructions, I must be a man ;)

I'm right as well, I had never noticed until I did the test how unnatural it felt to put my right thumb over the left.

Those faces started to look masculine at the end. In fact:

Your ratings suggest you prefer more masculine faces.

I don't know what to make of that by itself. All in all, I got a score of 0. I still feel male though.

My score on the word part was more than double the average female score. Which is weird, since I'm male and females are supposed to typically outscore males on that test...

Mine too but using language is part of both of my jobs, so I expected to have an above normal vocabulary.

I think the test assumes average intelligence, if your above normal intelligence it's going to skew the results

I know what you mean. I've been writing on the side as a hobby for the last ten years, so I would hope my vocabulary or at least my grasp of verbal concepts would be greater than average... :D
