Hello all,
I'm an intermediate level guitar player but am trying to enhance my skill and knowledge.
I am very sensitive to nuances in music and I like both a live sound and studio guitar sound. For example, performers like Steve Vai are able to replicate a studio sound making his playing seem very pleasing to the ear. I don't mean style, simply the actual sonic quality of his sound.
I am wondering how to recreate a studio sound? I play an American HSS strat --> boss gt 6 --> boss ge7 --> fender deville.
The only thing I can think of to help produce a studio sound is to employ the use of a compressor. the gt6 has an onboard compressor that I haven't bothered messing around with yet...are the effects included in the gt6 less than individual pedals?
Any suggestions/criticism about this topic would be appreciated.
