One more year (back to 1994) and I would have probably put Pride & Glory and Nirvana in the place of Vai and Soundgarden.

I need that Pride and Glory album. Zakk Wylde doin southern rock is so badass. I love Shine On..

Queens of the Stone Age
Alice in Chains
Mogwai
The GoodYear Pimps
Mono

with Nine Inch Nails and Faith No More coming a close 6th & 7th...

Wow. For all the strange/local stuff I listen to, I'm still rather mired in the mainstream. Not that I mind... just surprising.

In no particular order:
Tool
Smashing Pumpkins
The Verve
REM
Cursive.

Bearing in mind this was "bands". If i was gonna include solo artists as well, then i'd have to squeeze Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith and Tom Waits in there as well.

Some of those acts are not "of" the last ten years. Think of bands that got going around 1995 or later.

Deadsy
the Chariot
the Deftones (not sure if they would count)
the Mars Volta
System of a Down

Incubus

Plenty of other contenders, but they would probbaly be the 5, maybe with one exception.

Errr... I thought they started in 1991, therefore Suck On This! would've come out in 1991, therefore making them 13 years old.

He didn't sign up here (http://guitargeek.com/chat/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53580&perpage=40&highlight=grammar%20nazis&pagenumber=3)..

But yes, Petary791, the original poster (theguitarsquall) said, "Any band that has released an album within the last 10 years".

I totally agree. That whole album is great...not a clunker on it.

I love metal crossed with southern rock. Before Zakk the closest southern rock to get anywhere near that heavy was Blackfoot. Oh - that just reminded me - Zakk plays on a Blackfoot song called After the Reign...check that out if you're interested and haven't heard it.
