I play shoegaze/noise rock ala MBV, Sonic Youth, Swervedriver, Mogwai, etc. I have an Epiphone Dot and Fender Jazzmaster and use the Pod XT as preamp. I need a power amp around 100-120W. What should I buy?
Are you looking for tube or solid state? What's your budget?

Basically solid state. I'm on a fairly tight budget, wanting to spend something like $500-600 on the amp. Tubes tend to be more expensive than that.

You could easily buy a tube poweramp with that much cash, but if you dont want to worry about having it biased and retubed then S.S. is probablly not that bad of a choice.
Solid State amps:
marshall 8008- $170
rocktron velocity- $170
dean markley rm150- $150
ada b200s- $200
Tube amps:
Marshall 9000- $250
Peavey classic 60/60- $250-$350
mesa 20/20- $500
dean markley rm100- $200 <-----rare, but the best poweramp ive had yet.
And the list goes on, but these are all poweramps ive owned, and can reccomend.

mesa 50/50. The older model--they go for under 500 on the 'bay right now. All tube, and has a half power switch to knock it down to 15 watts.
I have one, and love it.
