I threw 2 guitars and my bass over a drum track I had previously made. Funkhardrockish.
Nope, never heard of them. That's not really a 'normal' song for me. 120 bpm is faster than what I usually do and my soloing sucks so I shy away from instrumentals. But I'll check them out.

I built a drum track for a thing on another site first out of acid loops and one shots in acidPro 3.0.
To record, I used my Carvin Bolt-t, Carvin DC150, and Carvin B4 bass w/active electronics.
My chain was instrument ---> Sansamp PSA 1 ----> Johnson J-Station in the fx loop of the PSA 1 using fx only, no amp mods or cab sims -----> M-Audio Omni Studio ----> Delta 66 sound card ---> acidPro 3.0 ----> Sound Forge 6.0 for wave editing ---> acidPro 3.0 for mixing and rendering to a wav file ----> Sound Forge 6.0 for final mastering and render to mp3.

cool- some impressive gear and programs you got there :)
I've been using the akai dps12 for a couple of years for recording my stuff, might have to find some time and upload my songs some time- give me an opinion :)

dig.
sounds cool!
the little chorus-type thing where the guitar isn't distorted sounds like the same as the first part of the verse of the Kelly Clarkson song "Miss Independent". :)
i need to get a computer recording setup, or at least a drum machine and loop program.

The drums sound really REALLY good for programmed drums... well done.
Yeah, post some tunes if you got 'em!!
I always dreamed of having a home recording studio, but understand that dream started in the 70's so I was envisioning this room w/ amps, mic stands, a drum set, vox booth, console in a control room booth, etc., etc., and as I got older, kids, all that stuff my dream of a home studio totally dried up.
Well, what you can do these days w/a pc and some select gear is amazing. My 'studio' is a 5'x2' computer armoire in the corner of the living room. I'm making music faster, easier, and better than I ever thought I could. This latest song was probably a total of 6 - 8 hours, and honestly, if I could nail lead solos correctly, or the way I liked them, the FIRST time instead of 50 something freaking takes, it would've been much less time.  :D
You can get a free version of acidxpress at www.acidplanet.com It will give you 10 tracks, no fx, no busses. Just a 10 tracks. After you install it, google 'free drum loops' and down load to your hearts content. Now you can build your own drums to jam with. Then google 'free bass loops' and down load some of those. Now you can build a little rhythm combo to jam with. If you have a J-station, POD, Behringer V-amp, a headphone amp even, you can go straight into your sound card, and now you're recording your guitar w/the backing track! It's that easy.
I'm about to step up to acidPro 4.0. I actually have it, but there was a bug in version I got that wouldn't let my recorded stuff sync to the track. I understand the revision of that has just been released like today, so I'll give it a whirl. I really acid, it's perfect for a one man band like me. It's NOT good if you want to record a real band. You can only record one stereo track at a time which is fine, 'cause I can only play one guitar at a time.:D
