Ok, i have been wanting to switch to a rack setup for quite some time and i have finally made a decision on what I will be using in my rack. A Mesa/Boogie Formula Preamp,Mesa/Boogie 20/20 poweramp or a 2:50, tc electronics g-major, and several other pieces of equipment. My question is although the Formula preamp isn't midi controlled is there any way that i could control it (change the channels and whatnot) if i got something such as a ground control, i would like to be able to do all my switching with the ground control and not a ground control and then the pedal for the formula preamp....so is it possible for me to control it with something such as a gcx switcher or something along those lines?

Ask the guys over at HRI forums. They definately can answer your questions.

But if I were you I'd look for a midi controllable preamp, would make things a lot easier.
Simple. All you will need is the Axess Electronics CX4. Go to www.axess-electronics.com and click on CX4 Control Function Switcher. This thing will make up to 4 of your external switching jacks on the Formula MIDI-controllable. Then just hook up a MIDI cable from your effects unit to the CX4 and program it and your set
