Hello,
I'm using and M-Audio MobilePre USB with Sonar 4 Producer Edition. I can record tracks to Sonar fine using the MobilePre, but when I try to monitor or playback the tracks in Sonar using the MobilePre, it has very bad latency. My intentions were to attempt to monitor the tracks already layed down in Sonar by having the audio from the tracks sent to the MobilePre so that the person recording could hear everything via the headphone jack. I have the playback and recording timing masters set for the MobilePre in Sonar, and I have my soundcard driver disabled in Sonar for both output and input. I tried using the different levels of latency that can be selected in the MobilePre's driver interface, but that did not seem to help.
I was thinking that it might be the system that I am currently working on, which is a 1.6ghz Pentium 4 with 512mb of ram, and when monitoring using the MobilePre as the input and output, the CPU usage goes up to about 33%.
Thanks.
