my friend and i were messing around with reason and were wondering if you could record live guitar on reason. or if you could dump the garageband files into reason.

thanks in advance

Reason does not record audio.

You can use pre-recorded audio via the samplers, but probably not enough for a whole guitar track. There is some experimental software called hammer, which streams audio into reason via the rebirth input device, but I don't think it has been released.

The best way to integrate audio tracks with reason instruments is to use a rewire host (like Logic, Pro Tools or Cubase, probably some others too) to handle all the audio.

Think of reason as a synthesiser/sampler with an in-built sequencer, not as a recording medium.

You can use cubase along with reason to record audio alongside the sounds you have created in reason.

Can you use Garageband with Reason too?
