I have an original Tom Scholz Rockman x100 that's not working. It gets power to the adapter and the red led power indicator lights up, but does not blink as it should. I was wondering if anyone out there has a schematic to this bad boy. SR&D are out of business and Dunlop, who now manufactures this unit, doesn't respond.

Try throwing it at the first person you hear say "Crate kicks ass and weezer rules".

That will fix it.

Honestly dog, as I am sure you know, I do not know...

You might want to try www.robertkeeley.com or www.analogman.com for the repairs.

But it would be fun to toss it at someone !!!!

First of all: Rockman sound is NOT Outdated, just because is an old device doesnt mean sounds old... Most famous guitarist today (2009) sound are VERY similar in terms of timbre, sustain, amp emulation, effects, etc, but the unit itself was never meant for tweaking-live situation and thats the only bad part, SOOOO...
Second: Yes you can TRANSPLANT the Rockman X100, and ADD some controls, and use it as a pedal. Im not engineer like Scholz, I just want basic mod, so I did my first attempt as you can see in the picture.
Third: I planned a more pro looking and useful mod in few days, to make it more resistant and more switches for clean, edge and distortion sounds and maybe add a volume pedal.
Fourth: Ive been experimenting with some fun combinations to make this thing sound better: Guitar--Rockman--M-audio transit--Guitar rig 3 or Intone or Amplitube or any vst effect with CHAINER.... Adding some Noise reduction, EQ, Delays, and wuala!!!! MAGIC SOUND FOR THE YEAR 3000!!!
Fifth: The Guitar Software is NOT ENOUGH by itself to emulate that sound... If someone knows Im wrong, please let me know.... TOM STILL TOURING WITH BOSTON USING HIS ROCKMAN ANALOG GEAR and NO ONE SOUNDS LIKE THAT. THANKS
btw: if led is not blinking, check mini plug power connection, or use batteries...

Do you know how to use a multimeter and own one?
