drum machine/ synth....

Im curious if there is a drum machine/ sythn combo piece of hardware avilable...Im recording on a tascam 2488 and my casio keyboard drum beats arent cutting it anymore....Anyways let me know if there are any... THank you

Right now I use a Korg Electribe ESX-1 drum machine, which has a makeshift synth built in that uses the samples on it. Very good and warm drum sounds. Depending on what kind of music you do, it will get the job done if you're not trying to go for realistic piano key melodies and more synthy or ambient sounds. The learning curve for it isn't very tough (compared to Roland equipment), but once you get the hang of it you can do a great many things.
