Hello!
I just won a neat 1950s RCA tube Mic Mixer from eBay (at 52 dollars, it was worth a shot).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=7357434116
This was sort of an opportunistic impulse buy, so I don't know a whole lot about this kind of product. Apparently, this mixer was in production before XLR was invented, or popular, so I'm going to have to spend a few more dollars on the right cables/adapters.
I was wondering: How would I go about connecting 1-3 microphones to this unit (which cables will I need, which inputs would I use, etc), and then, how I would go about connecting this unit to my MOTU 828mkii?
I bought it in order to warm up my recordings, and give each track sort of its own niche in the mix, rather than being a digital mess. What sort of applications would this mixer be useful for? I was also told that, rather than re-recording all of my songs with this unit in the signal chain, it would be possible to run the already-recorded tracks through this unit (to warm up the signal, hopefully), and then back into Logic Pro 6, on my computer.
Thanks so much, and sorry for the long post!
Trevor
