hi folks,

I'm seaching for a good compressor for my rig (witch is all tube), so i'm looking for a simple but good tube compressor.
did anybody try the EH black finger allready? or any other ideas?

Heard it was a wallwart of a pedal. I don't think it would be ideal in live situations. But im sure its good.

Two recommendations for you.

If you're looking for a stomp pedal, I highly recommend the EBS MultiComp!
Got one myself!

Or if your're after rack gear, nothing beats a DBX 160. The latest model is 160AD,
but you might find a used 160X.

thanks for the suggestions, i tried some pretty cool rack gear allready, like some focusrite stuff and a drawmer dl241, but that stuff eats up my tube sound! like playing my bass trough a cheap soundcraft or mackie mixing desk... but i'm a real geek at that point, I even have my own DI box for live shows.....

I'm gonna try the black finger next week (they say it has 300v of dynamic range..... wow, normal compessors have 9v dynamic range:cool: ) If i was playing on a transistor amp, it wouldn't matter, even Ampeg hybrid amps have +/- 9v gain-stage, thats why, I think everybody wants tubes.....
