hey,

I have a soundblaster audigy 2 soundcard, but i'm looking for something better, I'll be using it for synth emulators and native instruments software so i need very good outputs and inputs.

my budget is about $300

I've been undecided about buying an alesis micron or upgrading my computer, i really like the native instruments synths, so finding a good sounding soundcard and buying a midi controller will probaly be better
or something

thanks

i did some reading, and it seems the firebox is a good way to connect your inputs into the computer, but what about the soundcard?, or does the firebox includes a soundcard?

Hi bananimal,

I've been looking at similar products. Today i saw something from edirol ;
UM X-1 midi interface .

Try a google on it & you'll be able to get more specs.

It looks like we might be able to bypass the whole soundcard deal altogether.

RRP $99 AUD.

Hope this was helpful.

if you want to bypass the soundcard all together just get a recording interface like the firebox. either a soundcard or an interface would most likely be 24-bit/96khz anyways.

the firebox just has XLR and 1/4" inputs if i remember correctly, but if you need anything else then most likely youll want to get a pci soundcard or an improved interface.
