Hey guys. After removing my tone pots from the guitar's circuit it really improved the tone. Made it much clearer.
Figured it was time to really make 3 good sound clips of my Les Paul's GROOOOWWL!
*Les Paul bridge pickup (Seymour D. SH-1 '59) --- Marshall Jubilee --- SM57 mic recorded.

..Oh, and check out the De7 in action through the effects loop, in the first and last clip!
I didn't even add reverb post recording. thats the raw files!

Thanks!
I am really trying to fine tune my Les Paul tone. Its absolutely amazing to stand in front of my bogner cab cranked and slam on a power A with my Jubilee.
I do think I'm going to start experimenting just a bit with some different pickups. Knowing I have a sound I love with this pickup, it might be better, or worse, but I can always fall back on the great '59. I'm going to try to clear up the tone even more and I know of a few PU makers that claim to do just that.

I always wondered what a 59' in the bridge would sound like, and damn it's great! I've only used one in the neck.
What other pups are you thinking of experimenting with? If you have the chance, check out the Dimarzion FRED. I use one in the bridge position, it's a really bitey PAF, and sounds somewhat 'strat' like when clean.

I think that's my favorite GG rig. Love the clips!

well, I'm not looking for one with more "bite". The '59 has that covered, its just got a less defined midrange than I think is out there.
There are a few high-end 'boutique" pickups i'd like to try (van zandt..etc) but Dont know If I'm willing to throw $200+ just to try something.
Alnico II pros, seth lovers or even Voodoo's Pickups might be worth giving a shot at.
But I think my first try might be the Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom. I kinda want to leave the true vintage tone behind, and this might be a good step up. God, I wish it was easier to try out pickups!
