hey guys,
i tried using the boss-ac-2 acoustic simulator pedal with my yamaha compass acoustic-electro, and it sounded amazing! has anyone done this? i think this is the same feature on boss's ad-5 processor's "acoustic/ 'body' and 'ambience' " settings that
(from boss's site)
" turn the brittle, sterile sounds of a piezo pickup into the rich, "airy" sound of a mic'd acoustic guitar " .
can anyone verify this? thanks.

ok maybe i wasn't clear-
1.i have an acoustic guitar. it's nice. yamaha cpx 8. almost a grand in value, with mahogany sides, spruce top,and piezo pickup and preamp.
2. i plugged it in WITH the acoustic simulator, and it sounded good, and still good when tested through an electric amp.
3. my question was, could the "acoustic" function on the BOSS ad-5 (an ACOUSTIC instrument processor) be just an AC-2 in disguise? it has the same purpose and knobs as the AC-2. that way, i could be glad that i didn't go spend $200 on the Ad-5.
it would make sense if they were since all they really do is "tighten" the brash tone that piezo pick ups make.
4. i just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it.
thanks.

I bet it gives you a very, very, very "acoustic" sound indeed:D
The ac-2 is the best pedal that boss ever did yar?

In reply to your actual question the Acoustic Simulation on the AD-5 is more than like a lower quality version of the AC-2

yeah all they did to my tone was add extra unwanted noise but I don't know about with an acoustic. That might be cool. what do peoplethink of distortion with and acoustic/electiric
I have a yamaha cpx 15, and i am taking to the guitar store to test it with the accoustic sim right away.. IŽll tell you what i think aftewards.
what kind of DI box do you use?
oh yeah and also...
accoustic + dist = NO.. well maybe shredmaster :)
