Ok, I play bass 'alternating 2 fingers' style normally, but not super fast (only been playing a year). But I've found if I have to play fast (like on Muse - Stockholm Syndrome) I just use my index finger doing up and down strokes. Sort of using the end of my fingernail to to the picking. It just feels much more accurate at high speeds (atleast at my current ability level ;))... Is this a used technique at all? Or a particularly avoided one?
