new but messed up already

yeah i just got my bass about a month or so ago

an Ibanez SR300DX

and i didnt have a stand for it yet so i kept it in the box they gave me against my wall

well my brother knocked over the box, and the volume knob came off

i put it back on, but now its been falling off completely

can somebody tell me what's wrong, well besides the obvious, and how can i fix it?

any help would be appreciated

i used to have a SR, but sold it since i play guitar. I dont remember if the pot has a split post or a single. If it is split then gently open it up, make sure you dont break it. If its a single post, its probably the little knob thing. I have the same problem with one of my guitars. Too lazy to buy new knobs though. But try that.

yeah its a single post with chrome knobs

my friends suggested super glue . but im pretty pissed at the place i got it cause the amp cords' messed up too

don't super glue it... You could never replace or clean the pot that way, and if you got any glue in the pot, you'd ruin it outright.

My suggestion would be to wrap something around the post that make it bigger and then jam the knob back on there. Make sure that something was between the post and the knob that would create enough friction to keep it from popping off.
